Hey all,

My tv,a Sanyo Spectra tech which is about 14 years old turns on but then minutes later turns off by itself.Age is a factor I'm sure, but my question is,is it worth it to fix or just bite the bullet sort of speak?? :)

Make sure the remote isn't hidden under a sofa cushion! Maybe you're sitting on it just right and hitting the power button. LOL

You probably should do a reality check. How big is the screen, and how much would it cost to just buy a new TV of the same size? Or :thinker: better yet, how about an upgrade? :D What useful features do newer TV's have that your old one doesn't have?

Unless the TV would be, say, $300-400 or more to replace with todays equivalent TV, you are probably better off replacing it.

Now, if you're local TV repairman is the friendly type, maybe they'll give you a look without charging you a bench fee. If its not worth repairing, give it to them for parts. Of course, most places probably charge a bench fee. :(
