i repaired a leaking bathroom faucet. Now that it no longer drips from the spout it leaks around the base and is leaking under the sink. what did i do wrong? also..when i turned off the water supply it still leaked out of where the 'works' go and it made it very difficult...how can i get rid of this excess flow of water once i have shut off the water?
Hi Joanmarie,
-is it possible that when you 'repaired the faucet', you didn't tighten something back enough, or left out any seals or gaskets. The leak at the base of the faucet is usually an indication of this. -The leak under the sink is probably this water from the base just seeping through. Please poat back and relate what you did originally. -
Is your second question about the undersink shutoff ? - If these have been static for along time it is quite common for them to get a leak when used, try turning it even more'open' if possible. If the leak doesn't stop then you have to turn off house supply to change it. :o
