I purchased a Sharp Microwave Model R-220HW at a discount store that was not working for a buck. I brought it home and as I suspected what appears to be a fuse appears to have blown. I bypassed it and the unit works fine. The part name and part number as best as I can determine from internet searches is a C/T fuse it is a 15a/120degree C rated. It looks like a black block of plastic 1/2" wide, 1" high and about 1" long that screws in place and has 2 male therminal clips pointing up for the red power wire and a white wire to attatch to. The part number that I think represents this part is:QFS-TA038WRE0 and prices about 14.50 before shipping cost. I would like to know if it is possible to convert this fuse to a ceramic 15amp fuse that is about 12.00 cheaper and I would not need to also pay shipping costs. I don't really need this microwave at this time but would like to repair it as cheaply as possible to maybe use at some time in the future when my current one craps out. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
