I recently had one of two phone lines disconnected and it turns out that was the one the alarm system was connected to. Which wires do I need to move to connect the alarm to the remaining phone line? There is an internal phone company box in the house.

Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time to answer your question. But take a look at http://phonewiring.safewatchservice.com for phone line information.

Essentially what you want to do is connect Line 1 to Line 2 outside at the NID. This is a fairly simple process.

Let us know if you have any questions.

It seems that when my original line was installed in my home, 28 years ago, Telco didn't use the NID. I traced the wire back to a block (in the crawl space, unfortunately) and ran a wire from there to the NID so that I had an appearance of my original line at the NID. From there the rest was easy.

Thank you for your response.

Ron :)
