I need help! I am wanting to lime wash the walls and ceilings of a new home about 3500 sq. ft. Does anyone know whether or not the first two coats can be applied with a sprayer? Also just how much time can you wait before you start to do the rub off with the alcohol? I know that it says a minumum of 2-3 hours after each coat, but I wont be able to start that step until the day after the paint is applied. Will that be to long?

I apologize, but I am not sure just how to attach a link to the instructions. They are listed under "Decorate", Faux Finish, Lime Washing. They are also in Painting, Faux and then Lime Washing.

Thanks so much for your reply.

Please post a link if possible to the instructions you are referring to, I'm not familiar with 'lime washing'.

i think this is what she saw: http://www.doityourself.com/faux/fauxlimewashing.htm

and i think it just means to wait at least 2-3 hours until the paint is completely dry, before moving on to the next step. so overnight should be fine.

and spraying the base should be fine, too. it's the top coat that needs to be artistically applied.
