View Full Version : Chimney Plug?

I recently moved into a house that had a VERY old gas stove in the kitchen. The stove had an exhaust on the back that connected directly to the chimney.

I replaced the stove this weekend with a new one. I no longer need the chimney vent and I'm trying to figure out the best way to close the hole. The stove had a 4" pipe going to a 10" plate on the wall. Upon removal I found the hole in the chimney is actually 6", but the plate had brackets on it to seat it tightly.

I currently have the orginal pipe/plate still in there and sealed good with duct tape.

The only thing still using the chimney is a 50-year old fuel-oil boiler in the basement (soon to be replaced).

Anyone know how or where I can find a real plug designed for this type of hole?
