I Have A New Home With A Fire Place Insert. The Fireplace Has A Long Metal Insert That Runs To The Top Of The Chimney. At The Top Of The Chimney Is A Metal Cap With A Round Vent To Let The Smoke Out. The Round Vent Has A Wire Mesh Around It. My Question Is During A Heavy Rain Is It Normal For A Few Raind Drops To Fall Down The Vent? I Heard Rain Drops Hitting The Flue Door At My Fireplace. I Assume This Is Normal, How Could You Stop Every Little Rain Drop From Falling Down It. I Just Concerned That Over Time The Metal Insert Or My Flue Door Will Rust.
