I have a new house, first winter. Oil furnace, hot water baseboard heating, and I recently noticed when the heat turns on there is a rushing of water sound, you can follow it through the house like a wave. I didn't notice this the first few times the heat was on. I am wondering if this could be a problem. The furnace was cleaned in Oct. Thanks
Hi, sounds exactly like there is a lot of air in the pipes. Bleed the air out and that sound will go away. Look for some bleeder valves on the ends of your baseboard runs and turn the vavle to let out the air. Have a towel or paper cup ready to catch the stream of water that will follow after the air comes out and then close the valve. If you cannot find any of these valves on the pipes then it will have to be bled at the system. Let us know.
