Help me! Have a hideous wood-panelled bathroom and would like to lime wash it to give it some light. Seems the wood is varnished and waterproofed somehow (I can see sealant in the tiny spaces between the panels).

Any ideas on how I can waterproof this after I've sanded and limewashed?

I dont want to go to all the trouble only for the wood to swell or mould. :wall:

Lee,

Hello and welcome to the forums.

It seems to me that you would be better served to just replace the paneling, since paneling is very inexpensive. Since it is in a high humidity area, you could either buy wood paneling and apply urethane over it to seal moisture out, or just buy paneling made out of a more moisture resistant material.

I'm going to put your thread in the paneling and trim forum of this website also, so you can get some input from them as well
