We are in the process of building a new home (in Houston, TX), although construction has not yet started. We have gone through many homes built by the same builder, including a couple that are our exact model. The builder's policy is to place a return air duct in every room. During one of our walk-throughs for our model, we noticed that in some of the upstairs bedrooms the duct that brings air into the room was placed side by side to the return air duct. Both are placed in the ceiling close to the entrance of the room. We have heard elsewhere that the incoming air duct should be placed at the back of the room while the return air duct should be placed closer to the entrance of the room for better circulation. We're leary that the builder is cutting corners here and wonder if we should raise this issue with the builder prior to starting construction on our home. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
