Can you paint an old linoleum floor? If so, what type of paint would I use and would I have to seal it with a special sealer?

I painted our icky funky-orange linoleum sunroom floor using porch paint. I used gray as the undercoat, and then did a faux "marble" tile using a 12x12 piece of foam that I swirled peach/white/grey paint on. Then I smashed the "tile" onto the floor like I was stamping tiles. I was pretty stoned from the fumes by the time I was done, so it's not perfect. But I like it a lot better than the orange. And I can mop it when the kids drag in the dirt!
