We recently bought stucco paint, to paint our house. However, when i stopped by the local hardware store, they told me i didn't need stucco paint if it had already been painted and that i could use regular latex exterior paint. I would like to use regular exterior paint, since it's about half the price. But i don't want to get stuck painting it again either. Another thing to mention is that the paint was peeling, and we just power washed the house to remove the peeling paint.

Even though you power-washed, you will still need to remove all loose paint ( with a scraper or putty Knife ) before priming all spots where the paint came off. Prime with an alkyd oil primer, top coat with two coats of a good paint. Benjamin Moore makes great primer and paint. Good luck!
