View Full Version : Dryer Electrical Cord

This may seem like a silly question, but I bought a used dryer. I had to go to an appliance store to get screws to hook up the electrical cord.

I have one problem. The only screw that will stay in is the middle one. The other two keep coming out. There is nothing to screw them into. Should I also have a bolt or something to make the screws stay in? What makes the two screws stay in?

Any help would be apprecaited!

Hi Khansen,
- this is potentially very dangerous ! It sounds like the terminal block in the dryer is broken or at least crossthreaded badly. Do NOT try to fool around with this, you're dealing with 220 volts and high amps ,- enough to kill you !
Either return the dryer to the seller, or purchase a proper new terminal block and fit it in place.
