Hi guys. I'm new here to posting, but have been visiting for the valuable information for a few weeks now. I'm in the process of installing a carpet, and Im having a problem with it sticking to the tack strips. I layed the padding and trimmed it right up to the edge of the tack strip. Could this be preventing it from tacking down. The padding is 6lb padding and is 7/16 thick. Thanks for any helpfull responses!!

are the tacks pointing towards the wall?
there is an angle to the tacks in the strip, if they are pointing away from the wall, it will just slip off.

Or if the carpet is too cold, and the backing like a piece of cardboard, you will have atough time getting it to hold. What are you using to stretch the carpet?
Please don't say a knee kicker, or I'll understand why you can't get it to stick, your not getting a stretch!! :wall:
