Hello all. Thanks for your advice in advance.

I just moved into a new condo with a NAPCO 1000. The prev owner (original owner) never used the system.

Ever since the power being off in our building a couple of weeks ago, the alarm system would occassionally/sparodically go off. I can simply turn the alarm off by pressing/holding the '9' button to reset it. However, I can't figure out 1. why it is going off and 2. how to make it *stay* off permenantly.

Thank you much.

Is it going into _alarm_ or is just the keypad sounder making noise. If the latter, the two most likely causes are bad system backup battery, or failure to communicate (if it was once set to be monitored).
