Hi, my home was built 11 years ago. We just moved in. The dog is confused and is ripping up the place. She is scraching and biting where 2 walls meet, and the metal from within is getting exposed. I would like to fix this myself. Any suggestions?

Step one - train the dog...........:D  sorry had to throw that in.
Seriously though, I guess this is an outside corner? How bad is the damage?
If it's just superficial scratches it can be repaired with drywall mud (joint compound, I recommend light variety) and possibly a bit of tape. Fill any voids first with a 4"-6" knife and let that dry. Then apply a skim coat with a 8" knife or so to feather out the repair and allow that to dry. A final coat with about a 10" knife and you should be ready to sand, primer & repaint.
Any holes over 2"-3" in diameter really should be patched with a piece of drywall and the repair taped, then follow the steps outlined above. Square out the holes and enlarge them slightly if needed, then use pieces of plywood, or 2"x4" as backer boars to give yourself something to attach the patch piece to. To do this you just hold the backer piece in place up against the back side of the existing drywall & attach them with #2 drywall screws. Repeat this procedure on all four sides of the repair. When you're finished you measure & cut your patch piece of drywall & screw it into place.
If you have very severe damage such as large holes, cracks extending completely across the width of the sheet, badly crumbled edges, it's probably best to replace the entire sheet.
Hope that helps and Happy New Year! :glocke:

Thank you very much,
The damage is where 2 points meet. there is metal that is exposed. It is not just a whole in the wall. It has been torn at, ripped at, more than just scraches.
But, thanks for the advice, I will try it out after the new year.
Have a happy.
