I paid this moron cash up-front(I'm now the moron) to install steam boiler, Bryant with electronic pilot. 2 & 1/2" supply piping to stm mains. He ran off with$$$ and it was below zero the other day. Boiler probably 95% complete. This was a rehab and customer flipping-out! Understandably.
How tough to finish install on my own? I helped him with most piping and have considerable skills, just not much boiler knowledge/experience. HVAC company wants $2100 to finish install(2 guys for 8 hrs and 1 guy to 'button-up' for another 4 hrs) and wire up controls.Boiler itself cost only $2000, so the install price is almost pure labor.
