I have a fairly new washer and dryer about a year and a half old. Anyway.. the washer works great, but recently the dryer has hardly been drying clothes. It takes about 4 hours just to dry one load! I have to keep turning it back on. It's at the correct settings, and I always clean out the lint tray. Anyone have any ideas before I have to call a repair man to come look at it??
Thanks in advance!!

Krystina661, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
If you open the door when the dryer is running, is it warm inside? If so, I would suspect that the vent discharge pipe is clogged. Even though you clean the lint screen, not all the lint is captured there. Some will pass it and eventually build up in the pipe going outside. First thing to check is with the dryer running, see if the flappers on the discharge outside the house are opening. Pull them up and down to see if they are free. If free then turn the dryer off and pull the dryer away from the wall and disconnect the vent tube and see if it is clogged. Also check the dryer where the line attaches for blockages.
Try these things first and if it does not solve the problem then reply back. Good luck.
