Hello everyone. I need some advise on what might be an odd project. I am currently in the middle of "modding" my computer case. Window in the side, fans for colling sleaving wires...etc. Anyway I am wanting to paint my case. Solid colors and metal flake have all been done so I was thinking of trying something new. Putting a Pewter finish on the entire case. I found a kit in a store for applying this finish. I guess the help I am looking for is this.

Will this kit provide good consistant results? I am painting both powdercoated metal and plastic.

If so do you have a hints or things to look for when applying?

If not can you point me in a better dirctions.

Or do you have any ideas of finishes that would work better.

My final plan is to have the case done in an antique looking finish with a window in the side pannel. My wife has done the applying "fake" stained glass to regular windows in the past. I am going to have her design something for the edge of the 12"x12" case window.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Bob

Definitely an odd project :)

Can you give more info on the 'kit' you bought, what type of paint is included, how they suggest to apply it, etc. That would help with determining if it will hold up or not.

I have not bought the kit. Paint will be the last step. I still have some designe work to complete prior to the final paint job. Fan holes, custom on/off switch, temp monitor.. etc.

The kit I was looking at was two parts along with brushes and such. I think the only thing else required per the kit was denatured alcohol. I could be wrong I did not study it that closely.
