I have bough and installed a vista 20p alarm panel and it came with a 5150 Keypad. Am I correct in finding out that this system cannot be programed with this pad? If this is so what key pad should I buy?

I believe you meant the 6150 Fixed Display keypad, not 5150.

Anyway, to answer your question - no and yes.

No, it's not entirely impossible to program the system using that keypad - but, Yes, it is extremely difficult, even for seasoned professionals.

I recommend getting 6160 Alphanumeric Display keypad - you'll thank yourself later. It runs from about $120 and up online.

Good luck!
