I am about to attempt to replace the pump. It have power to the motor but doesnt turn on. What steps should I do before starting. I have a shut off on the return and a shut off on the feed side. Should I just drain the boiler and then swap out the pumps. What about filling the boiler once completed. Somebody said I should wait for the whole thing to cool down as not to crack the boiler with cold water once i start to fill.

Thanks.

Unless I misunderstood your post, it appears you have shutoff valves on both the suction and discharge sides of the circulator pump. If so, why drain the boiler if you are able to isolate the pump from the rest of the system?

If u have valves on both sides of the pump, just shut them off, turn off A/C power, let it cool down a bit, and replace it.

I recently replaced my B&G 100 with a Taco 007 and was very pleased.... no more oiling, 1 piece design and 1/3 the cost. The Taco does need a little more room on the sides (slightly wider on one side) so make sure you have that room otherwise u will have to mess with the flanges.

Thanks for the feedback. Install when great once I got all the air out of the system. Used Grundfoss instead of the B&G and was pleased.
