I'm working with a local community center that was an old school building. It has a ademco vector 3000 system installed (panel is "4153")
I've figured out the programing for this unit and have it working. well a few "points" I had to bypass as they were unrelable or bad.
As I'm doing this on the cheap (using my money) I will try to buy used components on e-Bay.

what I need to know is what components work with this system. I could search by component name & number.
example (4152 Polling Loop Module)
don't know where to find list of components

thanks in advance
Larry

That ones at least 12 to 14 years old. _None_ of the current generation hardware is listed as compatible with this system.

4157 is the keypad
4190WH is Dual Point Remote Point Module (RPM)
4208 is 8 point RPM
4192xx are smoke detectors
4139WH, 4194WH, 4191WH are RPMs with built in magnetic contacts.
4196, 4275 are PIRs

There are a couple of other things like loop testers, loop extenders, and the like.

Good luck. Just be aware that electronics this old are likely to be unreliable at best.

Understand,
This is a small town, 550 pop
Our bigest problem were kids, And having an alarm working has done wonders. (ever tho it only calls me)
If it calls, I will drive by and look it over. most of the time someone tried to turn the alarm off then tripped the alarm and are still there when I arrive. once, I needed to look closer so I asked a deputy to stop in and be with me. turns out a door was unlatched and wind blew open enough to trip the alarm.
so for, the alarm gets tripped once in 3-4 months
all trips have been false but we've found the reason for the alarm trip.
As the center is all volunteer and really does not have money for a monthy subscription. so the alarm calls me. If the alarm calls me I will check it out, If I'm not home then the noise (horn) will just have to do (grin).
When I was working on the alarm system (expermenting) I think ever kid in the county was there at one time or other when the alarm went off (I was not smart enough to unhook the horn) but everyone knew I was fixing (working on) the alarm.
This has worked so well that I want to fix up and even expand to a couple of building that I would like to use for storage.
thats why I'm looking for components
I may have to replace the system some day, but cost is a real factor.
wireless is out as this building was built in 1910 and all walls are 15 inch brick (inside walls and outside walls)
inless, wireless using power lines ( if power is out will system still work?)
Thanks Larry

You might be surprised at the range of the current generation of wireless. I have no problems with the ITI or Ademco technology in pretty large buildings. Modern metal frame construction is a bigger impediment (think faraday cage) than brick. This is a much greater expense. The transmitters can add up quickly.
