I have an electric water heater which was installed by a little over two years ago. I never run out of hot water, but the water at times is very hot, and at other times it is just warm, even when I turn the shower all the way up?
I haven't looked at the temperature setting lately, but I do know that it was set between the recommended levels. It is very annoying and I don't know if I should simply turn up the temperature? I thought it may have been the shower valve, but this lack of hot water happens at all faucets.
thanks for any advice you could give Rick

You have 2 heater elements on your heater. One maintains the temp and the other kicks in when more water is needed. Your assist element may not be working. When you first start using the water it is hot, and when the cold starts replenishing the tank, the other element is not there to help keep up with the demand. You will have to test or replace the element(s). Some last longer than others. Good luck.
