Hi Guys
You were so great helping me I couldnt resist asking for help again...
Heres my new problem I have a Paloma water heater that wont stay lit.
The pilot has been cleaned and the Thermocouple has been replaced, but when you let off the pilot button it will not stay lit. :wall:
If you could help me with this it would be GREAt

Probably a bad gas valve.

1) make sure the pilot flame is on the end of the T/C and should be a dull red
2) Make sure the endof the T/C which screws into the gas is seated hard into the gas valve and there is no deposits on the end of the T/C or in the connection in the gas valve? I like to make sure both surfaces are shiny.
and make sure there is nothing shorting this end as well.

Look on the control valve for a sticker that states something like "one time use" or word to that efffec. If you see such a sticker it means if the ECO opens because of an over temp situation it does not reset. The entire valve must be replaced. It sounds by your description the this has happened or the power unit (electro magnet) has failed. This probably means a new control as well. Depending upon age of water heater will tell you what to do.
