My basement is not finished. The ceilings are less than 8 ft in height. The walls of the basement are very thick - Stone/granite foundation. I would say that so far this year, the basement has been around 55-60 degrees on the chilliest days.
Would insulating the ductwork be a good way to save on heating costs? Although the furnace is new, the ductwork is very old, probably original to the house or at least when they converted from oil to gas furnace.
Thanks.
