This is the weirdest problem, I have a brand new house and two cordless phones, with either of the phones diff brands and quality whenever you walk around you get bursts of static if you stay still it's not so bad. Even if you wlak into the next room form the base you get the static but the regular phone is fine any sugestions?

with a question, but what frequency does the phone operate on? (ie 900MHz, 2.4 GHz, or 5.8 GHz). My other question is do you have a baby monitor or a wireless access point for the computer anywhere?

A baby monitor could cause static for a 900 MHz phone. A wireless access point can cause problems with a 2.4 GHz phone.

If none of the above applies to you, then do you notice it better or worse when some applainces are running? Have you tried moving the base unit to another outlet (different circut?).

One last idea is to try moving the base unit around to different spots.

Hope this helps and please post back!

Yeah I have tried different outlets to no avail. Both phones are 900Mhz and I have tried only one phone connected. No baby monitor or wireless comp. And it appears to have no connection to specific appliances. I am completely stumped, both of these phones worked perfect tin the previous house

Do not laugh at this answer because it happened to me and may be happening to you. I also had random static on my telephones. I checked everything and called the telephone company. They did some things on their end but the noise continued. Then I found the problem. I was letting the receiver rub against my beard stubble without realizing it. It made quite a racket. Now I hold the telephone a little more careful.

I once had a dimmer switch cause the same problem you describe. When the light was on the phone would hum with static, turn the light off and no more static. You could have a switch or even a light that is interfering with the phone signal. I have also had the problem when the refrigerator ( as mentioned by desy2820 ) kicked on. Took a while to figure that one out as the base is in the kitchen but the phone is everywhere. It was intermittent and really hard to pin down.

Surprisingly enough these last two days it has been very intermitant and quieter, one of my coworkers was sayin that it might be the power coming into the house if it isn't right it would mess with the phones, is that possible?
