The refrigerator is five years old. It has started making a clicking noise about every five or ten minutes. Also, I noticed my ice cream was soft tonight :( so I'm not sure if the freezer is even working. I read in a message below that it could be the compressor. What is causing this noise and how can I repair it?

The clicking noise is "probably" the compressor overload responding to excessive current being drawn by the compressor motor. The problem may be as simple as a bad compressor relay, a capacitor problem, or a bad condensor fan motor. It also could be a bad compressor. If you're not familiar with this circuitry, it's probably best to call a repair person.
