I have a Kenmore washer that didn't spin or drain and I figured out that the lid switch was broken. I ordered a new switch but I am stuck trying to disassemble the washer to make the replacement. I have seen some illustrations describing how this is done (http://www.cheapapplianceparts.com/washer_repair.htm) but I believe the new models are a bit different. My washer also has a "110" serial number and is couple of years old.

So, does anyone know where I can find instructions for taking apart a newer model Kenmore washer?

Thanks for any help,
-Eric

Try the link below. It may assist you in the disassembly of your washer. Good luck.

Yeah, I've seen that page, I guess I'm just not sure how I get the front console to pop up so I can get to those screws underneath there. Do I just pick apart the panelling or what?

Thanks,

The screws will be behind the plastic edge trim cover if equiped, at the base of the control panel, or on the back side of the control panel. After you have the control panel tilted back you will have to release the 2 clips holding the top to the cabinet.Use a flat tip screw driver for this. Unplug the wires leading to the lid switch, pull forward and tilt to remove the top.

Good luck and reply back if you have further questions.

Make sure all power is disconnected before attempting any repairs.
