I installed a Honeywell powered humidifier last year and everything was fine for a couple of weeks - ran perfectly. Then it quit. Couldn't figure out what was wrong so I got a replacement unit. Left the humdistat alone. The new unit worked fine till I "think" was the end of last winter.
This year it did not work again. Took the unit back and got another one. Once again it worked fine for a couple of weeks. Now it quit again.
For the main line (120v plug in) I used the outlet box on the side of the furnace that turns on and off with the furnace blower motor.
For the mechanical humidistat, I used the simplest method in the instructions. The "Typical wiring diagram for humdifier using fan control to cycle blower motor fan and humdifier simultaneously" method. Basically this involves wiring the two humidistat wires to the two yellow wires coming out of the humidifier.
I'm lost. Any ideas?
Thanks.
