I bought a ten year old house last year. This is a split entry with a basement and a single above-ground floor. Both bathrooms are upstairs, although there is a rough-in in the basement which I may turn into a bathroom sometime in the probably distant future.
When I bought it, I knew I'd have to rearrange the venting. I'm just not sure how best to do it.
Currently, the range vents into the attic with no direct vent to the outside. I'm assuming I'll need to install a roof vent for that and extend the ductwork to connect to it. The two bathrooms each have a flexible exhaust duct. Initially, they both ended at the roof with a single vent a foot or so above them. As a temporary measure, I moved them to directly below the vent. I believe I need to connect each of these to a roof vent directly. Can the bathroom exhaust ducts share a roof vent or will I need to cut another hole and install another vent? Is there an easy way to connect them to the one vent if that is indeed allowed?
