I have been negligent in my keeping salt in our Culligan water softener. [Bad me.] Now I look into the softener and only see almost black water about one-third of the way up the container [nice use of technical lingo, huh…].
Would it be advisable for me to siphon that old water out of the softener before putting new salt crystals in?
Is there a good and easy way to clean it up?
I have not noticed any effect on our water in the home yet, but would imagine that to be coming if I don’t get the thing cleaned up…
Thanks for helping!
