Need Good Advice
Recently Moved In In A Newly Built House [march 2004]
Had A Separate vent Put In To Have The Range Fan To Be Vented Out
Noticed A Month Ago An [old Fried Food] Smell Occuring
It Occurs Out In The Room Adjoining To the back of The Kitchen and it comes From The Vents
I Clean The Filters In The Range Fan Often
Are There More Filters Up In The Range Fan Vent ??
or is anything else causing his odor

Has Someone Had This Problem ?

There's only one filter on a range hood.

Are you able to see if there is any air flow blowing out of the vent outside of the house? Is it a good flow?

If you have no flow going out side, or not able to find it.. Maybe the duct work hasn't been run outside all the way and is being dumped into the wall cavity/attic.

the duct work has probably come apart you would be amazed how often that happens due to people not using screws or tape or anything to hold it together. Maybe it doesn't go outside at all. I once worked in a house where the previous owner took it up on himself to install bathroom fans he must have been a real rocket scientist cause he hooked 2 of the fans up to flex duct they ran only from one fan upstairs to the other fan downstairs not anywhere else. All that happened was it blew the stinch to the other bathroom when turned on. I'm sorry about your problem cause I'm sure if you fix it yourself it will be a pain. But the duct has a leak or has come apart. Not fun to fix if buried in drywall or insulation. Good luck
