I wanted to buy Kenmore water heater, natural gas, 50 gallon. On their spec sheet, Sears claim to have higher recovery rate, 1st hour rating, energy rating, etc. However, their model on the display had lower numbers. How can I make sure that I get the better deal?

I don't believe there is a law against puffery but I do believe the sticker on the side is Govt. mandated. I would ask a salesperson to explain why they are different. If you don't get an answer, call another place that sells water heaters and ask them. A plumbing supply house can probably give you better answers. Good luck
