Hi,

I have a rather large flat roof that is used as a deck. (20x12) I have search and search on google, etc. and I'm looking for information on the fiberglass decking that I am seeing done all over the place. I would like to know more about it, cost, how it is done, etc..

In addition, I'd like to know more about the tempered glass railing that I see often now. I assume it is mounted below the deck @ NOT surface mounted (is this correct?) Again I have googled and not found very specific information. Naturally this needs to be water-tight as it double as a roof above.

Any links or ideas would be a huge help.

Thanks

OldPete,
Sounds like a nice place to watch the world go by....

One point to be made is that the decking has nothing to do with the waterproofing of the structure. It just sits on top of whatever the roofing/waterproofing membrane is.

Start including the term "plaza deck" in your searches. You'll most likely find a lot more of what your looking for.

Here is one http://www.pureviewrailing.com/

Good Luck!

I don't believe that the "decking" you are referring to is fiberglas. Try "composite decking" on Google.

This is a solid piece of fiberglass that is poured on to a suface. These are not planks, etc.

Pete, you don't say where you are, but if you're in the greater New York area, you might try Doug's Fiberglass Roof Decks in Montclair, New Jersey. They do exactly what you're looking for.
