Hi, guys!
I want to fix the windowsill/edges in one of my rooms. Buddy the DOG ate one of the corners when he was a puppy. He chewed up the corner pretty bad, a fairly big chunk is missing, sheetrock and all. Now I'm tired of looking at it and I want to fix it. Buddy has outgrown his chewing frenzy and he is now into retrieving...anything that is not nailed down..socks, shoes, underwear...you name it. Sooo, what type of material do I need to patch this hole and to make it look somewhat presentable? Plaster? Like I said the sheetrock is missing. Do I get another piece of sheetrock to patch this mess up? Even though I'm a gal I'm pretty handy with stuff......used to hang wallpaper but never messed with gaping holes in sheetrock.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

How big is the hole?

The hole is actually the whole bottom corner edge, 10 inches by 6 inches.

The easiest way to fix the hole in your wall is to get a piece of drywall. Cut it to fit the hole. Screw a piece of backing in the hole. Attach your patch to the backing. Then finish with mesh tape and quick set mud.
