I have 2 trunks running down length of basement ceiling..... SInce I am trying to same some $$$ and time- I am painting the block walls and am wondering if it's OK to paint the ducts. Boxing them in would kill my headroom. If so- What kind of paint do I use??
I've used regular paint, and works just fine.. Just make sure the duct work is free of oil and dust.

Take and wash them down with a 75% water 25% vinegar.Helps clean it and cut into the galvanize there. Wash down with clear water let dry then paint. It helps hold the paint. What ever you use put it on thin and 2 coats.
