In our basement utility room, a small area (1' by 2' approx) by the water heater, water softener and furnace has started to scale. There is a 'salty' film in this area. I can clean it up and it will return in a couple of weeks. I believe we've got a spot there in the utility room that gets water underneath (the wall closest is the inside wall of a crawl space). The concrete will get dark and moist, but no active leak where water is actually flowing on the surface.
I'd like to at least patch it for now but I'm a little suspect of concrete patching only because I've seen neighbors' efforts on driveways that ended up a bit lame looking. Any suggestions on product to use?
