I have a rental that I am going to carpet a 9' X 15' room. I picked up two pieces of new olefin (sp?) Berber at a garage sale, very cheap price. The room has old painted hardwood floors. Should I put padding under this? I'm not concerned about comfort, but thought maybe it's good for wear rate or some other reason. I'll be hiring someone to install.

Thanks

The cost of cushion is very little for the amount of benefit it offers. Go ahead with some new pad.
