hi best roller to use to apply plaster for skimming ,is it just a normal paint roller i use tp spread the spaster before smoothing off

For a skim coat you want to use drywall joint compound, I would recommend using the light mud instead of the all purpose, as it will take alot less mixing. I just use a cheap roller, usually purchased from a dollar store or Wally World, no need to use an expensive roller like a Purdy, as I pitch them when I'm done with the skim job. HTH
