I have a house built in 1920 with brick walls and a part of it has painted tin covering it. We had our chimney parged (sp?) - covered with tar - and the contractor let it drip down the side. How do I (contractor refuses to do it) get a two-story long, two foot wide strip of tar off the side of my house? Any way to do it without damaging the paint?
Please help, thanks.

hi
if the temp is cold just scrape it and used paint thinner to clean it up
if the temp is hot do the same thing scrape it to the paint and used paint thinner to remove the excess
cheers

"contractor refuses to do it"
Well, pgtek has the right procedure, but it's the contractor's responsibility! Tell him he'll be paid AS SOON AS IT'S PUT RIGHT.
What's that? You say you've ALREADY paid the contractor. Big no, no. NEVER give ANYONE, ANY MONEY before the job is COMPLETED to YOUR satisfaction.
Sorry for the attitude as I'm sure it's too late to help YOU, in THIS instance. However, maybe one or two others will read it and save themselves some grief in the future.
