suggestions for capping half wall

In my walkout basement I have "half" walls that are painted and ready to be capped. My first though was to use good ol' dimensional lumber (clear oak). I need 12" on a couple of walls and 8" on the others.
I used polystyrene prefinished trim from Louisiana Pacific (ultra oak) and would like something to match or close.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

By the way that prefinished trim looks amazing. It saved me SOOO many hours of sealing/staining.

I'd say the two choices are oak (expensive). Or oak veneer plywood with moulding to finish the edges (still expensive, but less so).
