I just got info about my water breakdown containing everything but lime levels the plumber tells me is the main problem. 5 out-of-8 water outlets in my house don't work. Sediment has clogged them up. A bath takes 10 minutes to draw.
Calcium 56.5 mg/1 Chloride 30 mg/1 Iron 2.06 mg/1
Hardness as CaCO3 (Ca,Mg) 268 mg/1
I do not want to have problems with this anymore. So I need to know what I need. Any advice I can get would be appreciated.

What did he say you needed as far as equipment" It sounds like a water softener capable of removing 2+ ppm of iron but I suspect there's more than hardness causing your problem. Like TDS and maybe sulfates etc..

Thank you for replying. The plumber said it was liquid lime. The lime content was very high. The test by the health department did not check for that. He has it too. He recommended a simple filter to partially control it but it means the screens on any faucets or airraters would need replacing every few months. I want to get a dishwasher and this solution sounds like it would destroy a dishwasher in a few months.

Liquid lime... IMO that's hardness and it is causing hard water scale. The health dept couldn't care less how hard your water is or how much of a problem it is for you. They and water companies do their best to teach you not to dislike hard water and that's why I suggest people don't use them for water testing. They on the other hand tell you to stay away from water treatment dealers for fear they might 'sell' you something! You do have the problem and they don't have/sell any type of solution for it, so who ya gunna call. ;) But not Hey xxxxxx MAN! Unless you want to spend a bunch more than needed.

Get a water test kit from most any hardware store etc. and see what it tells you but I think you need a water softener regardless.
