Hi. I have a 1950's brick bungalow with one of those pass throughs for milk, etc. Anyway, I would like to get rid of any memory of it (especially from the outside) and would like to know how to go about that. Once you rip out all the old wood framing, door, etc. what do you do with that gaping hole within the brick? What are my options??? Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Try to install matching brick or build a faux door in the space

Glass block may be a good option.

What about a stone name plaque or date plaque? That would not be out of character for a home built in that era and would solve your problem. Plus behind it you could put any type of brick to finish the outside and on the interior you could simply sheet rock and finish off normally.

but the more impressive link is the photo site that shows the before and afters from using the tint process to give your job a uniform, flawless look that link is http://www.nawkaw.com/examples/reno3.html it shows 12 before and after photo's, which are quite stunning in my opinion. You can also look at antique brick company's or replacement brick companies and hopefully find a match for what you already have if you want to go the route of having a brick front finish with no trace of the milk door ever being there. Here is one company I found http://www.oldmississippibrick.com/brickcolors1.htm but there are tons more online if you decide to go that route. Just keep in mind that brick staining is an option should you not be able to locate the exact same type brick.
P.S. If you go through the forum there is listed several times the pages for installing brick, I didn't go through and pull that because it is on here so much but you shouldn't have any problem locating that if you need directions on how to install the brick once you get it.
