Hi and I'd like to thank anyone in advance for any advice and help.
I am redoing a small servants quarters that is in my backyard starting tomorrow. Its been used as a storage area for over a year now and the place really needs a complete overhaul. The carpet is an absolute mess and Im planning on pulling it out and either A) Painting the cement Floor or B) laying down a wood lam. Im guessing it will all depend on what kind of shape the floor is in which I choose to do.
I have a few questions here.
First if I decide to paint the cement and just throw some rugs down what kind of paint is best to use on the floor. I was told I could use an epoxy paint to do this but not sure exactly what to use. If I end up painting the floor instead of wood lam, Id like it to be a beige to light cream color, about the same color as Ill be using for the trim and ceiling. Any ideas on what type of paint to use would be greatly appreciated. I am also on a budget and Im doing quite a few things to the place so I need to keep cost down to a minimum with each project.
Second, Im pulling out the carpet in the entire place, its really like a small efficiency apartment, so even the bathroom has carpet in it. When I walk on the floor in the bathroom I can tell there is some damage underneath, of course I wont know for sure what all is damaged until I pull up the carpet. I was told i would need to float the bathroom floor and Im not sure exactly how to do that either...lol. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again
