I hope someone out there can help. I have seen plenty of suggestions to remove watermarks from wood tabletops, but none for leather tabletops. I have an old drum table from the 30's-40's which has a leather insert on the center, which is quite large. There is what appears to be a very old(?) watermark offcenter in the leather, otherwise the table is in excellent condition. I would eventually like to refinish the table, but right now I am concerned about the spot. Please help! Any suggestions on how to remove it (short of removing the leather inlay) would be appreciated.

Beth:

You didn't mention what color the watermark was, which is important in knowing how to deal with it.

Regardless, if it is a true antique, you should have it looked at by a professional restorer. A local antique store( with a good reputation) could probably tell you who to contact.
