This Maytag dishwasher is not working properly. The water is not draining out after the rinse cycle. I suppose it's either the pump, motor or controls but am not sure just how to troubleshoot this. At the rinse cycle there is a hum of the motor, but water is not pumped out. It also looks as if the motor and pump are one unit. Does anyone know if this is correct?

Maytag has both belt and direct drive. The only way to find out is to remove the front bottom panel. You then need to check the drain pump and see if the belt moves freely. If there is a belt. Other than that, you drain pump could be cracked at the shaft, thus not draining water like you said.
