I have a full, unfinished and unheated basement with floor joists exposed. There was faced insulation installed between some of the joists, but the face is down (toward the unfinished basement). Some have said that the insulation needs to be turned over to put the face toward the floors above.
Is it necessary to do this or is it OK as installed

wpassine, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
The facing on insulation is supposed to go closest to the heated room. Thus yours should be installed with the facing against the floor above. Not sure why not all joists have insulation between them. May be that there is piping in those spaces. Without all the spaces being insulated, it really isn't doing much as far as insulating the first floor. Good luck.
