Diamond Design painting for foyer ... HELP

Does anyone have tips on how to recreate this diamond patterned wall treatment (see attached) We’re buying/redecorating my in-laws house and I LOVE the idea of doing this in the foyer. Do I need to use a certain kind of paint? What materials do you suggest?

hard to tell from a picture what exactly was done. for all we know, it could be wallpaper! or diamond shapes cut out of textured wallpaper. it could be actual texture applied with joint compound, or it could all be paint.

if you just want to paint, i'd paint a base coat of the camel color. then i'd tape off the diamond shapes & do a darker camel on every other one and sponge a white glaze on them. then i'd tape off the opposite ones & sponge the white glaze on them.

you might even decide to sponge on the darker camel on the lighter camel diamonds, and vice versa.

it's a great look - i think it will be fairly easy to do. you might play around on a piece of poster board first though.

Annette - Thanks for the input. I'll do a little practice work on cardboard as you suggested and see what I come up with.
