I have a GE side-by-side TFX27ZPBAA that quit dispensing ice recently. The auger just quit turning.

I disassembled the assembly and took it out of the fridge. I suspect the issue is with the ice dispenser motor auger assembly. Even with no ice in the ice dispenser bucket the auger still does not turn. The other electrical device back there that trips up and rotates the metal bar which opens the ice chute door still works fine.

Also, I turned the auger by hand and noticed no sound of a stripped gear and such. It sounded normal.

I found the auger assembly on a GE appliance website for around $100. Before I spend the bucks does anyone have any suggestion on what else it could be? Is there anyway to bench test the whole assembly?

Well what might of happend is someone requested ice when all the ice was frozen, thus burning out the motor. At leats thats what happend to my frigidare fridge.
