I built a rear bench seat support/cabinet for my cruiser with exterior plywood, the ends of which sit directly on the boat's floor and will get wet. What is the best way to encapsulate the plywood so it won't rot? The front facing of the support/cabinet is teak and will be teak-oiled. The other (plywood) sides of the cabinet are not in plain view, so the beauty of the finish on those sides is not important.

No mater how you go it will get wet. How about you put some plastic strips on the bottom of it to keep it up some from water. Are go the west system with epoxy resin on the wood. You know that is why all the people I know with boats And myself say their next boat will be a clorox jug. No wood.
